El Goog Dance Party

This was a good week, it felt kind of normal being here. We celebrated our 13th anniversary and took the kids out to the village for pizza. Way too cheesy, the Cains would have loved it. We have been warming up the hot tub more often, which is fun. I had several Mom's from Archer's class over for coffee and tea this week. That was nice and felt like a normal thing to do. The best part of it (aside from the beginning of some friendship) is that I had to get the house all ready for it. And the house, well, it actually looks pretty good all cleaned up and free of boxes! I was surprised! We have the first kid (acutally twins) over for a playdate today, and the kids are in school and a few extra activities, Archer is doing chess and Skyler soccer (that is Sky in the yellow). The weather was very warm this week and Archer and I actually got too much sun yesterday somehow.  And we have our first visitors scheduled! That is really exciting and we are already planning all the things we will do that week with our friends.  Im already making a list and cant wait! Ill have to do something about all the boxes in the guest room, but hey I actually have a guest room. Tickets to San Jose are crazy cheap right now!

The boys went up to El Goog and decorated Dad's office, it was looking mighty sad. They colored signs for him and printed family photos. We even dug out his favorite posters that never had a place in our old house.
So the boys had a little decorating party and dinner at El Goog, and I had a few hours to myself (to get ready for the tea the next morning). They went to the Mexican restaurant again because apparently the other El Goog places are too sophisticated for their tastes and they had a little impromptu
dance party there. One thing I notice in this area is that high Intelligence Quotient doesnt really equal high Social Quotient. In fact, Id say it has the opposite effect. So while these folks might be super smart, they arent likely to look at you and smile. Or actually really even acknowledge the existence of other human life forms. So I would have guessed the dance party didnt go over too well in the El Goog cafe at 7pm, but Fred says it
actually did! I guess I underestimated the Cuteness Quotient.

I got Dr, Dentist and hair stylist recommendations from the Mom's at tea. That was really helpful. Skyler was so good all week, and if the little green monster reared its head you just needed to say the code word "Coconut" and he was all smiles and sweet again. So he earned himself one big hairy coconut yesterday, and yes he was really disappointed. First he wanted to drink the milk with a straw through a hole Fred made (that is how I like my coconut drinks while in Mexico too!) and he made a sad face and walked away. "Its not EVEN a little good". And then he wouldnt even taste it. Oh well, it was good for a week I guess.

To the left is my grocery store. Yes they sell hard liquor,REAL beer and wine a the grocery store! Very cool. And no they dont block off that section on Sundays. Adults are treated like adults here.

Our little town is somewhat like London during the war. They seem to have removed all street signs in an effort to confuse outsiders. I swear, if an intersection actually does have a street sign it is little bitty tiny. Or maybe my eyes are getting old! Either way we are finding our way around little by little.
