Fred spoke at a conference in front of 400+ this week. Has
another one this weekend, Id guess not as big. This is all practice for the big conferences he will need to present at, but Im sure he did well. He may go to SXSW (South by Southwest - a super cool music/movie/tv/ and apparently software festival in March. I would LOVE to go there, he didnt even know what it was. It is in Austin, which I LOVE too. Havent been back since JJs law school graduation. If I lived anywhere near people I knew Id dump my kids with them and go too! But alas, Ill be here. Enough about Fred and his awesome job that pays him (although not very well) to eat and go to cool places.
I have discovered Twitter and have loaded my Tweets to the right <---. I tried it during the election and didnt get it. But now I do, and LOVE it! I get my news and celebrity gossip on there, plus I can cyberstalk John Mayer. It is like Facebook, but without all the highschool friends, more celebrities and actual news and information. And the answer is, yes I need some real life
friends here....
I also am obsessed with my new Wii Balance Board or Fit Board,
whatever it is called. Alison discovered it and once during
bookclub we all ditched the book (which is typical) and started Hula Hooping and Tightrope Walking on her Balance Board. It was so fun! Ive been searching for one since that night and found one last week! Ive done a little research, and have started to use it as my weight loss program. So far, so good! Hula Hooping seriously works muscles Ive never used before, except seems like they would have come in handy during child birth. It also has a boxing workout that it good, and gets me all sweaty. The program is a little clumsy, but I put together a 30-50 minute work out and I think it will work. My goal is 20lbs on this thing. Only problem is
the boys like it just as much and are always clamoring to go for a jog or play soccer with it.
Here we went to the Ames NASA Reserach Center and had lunch at El Goog on Tuesday with Fred. The other one is the last time we went out to eat.
The boys have been getting along really well, and that is so nice. They are
great friends with each other and play in the playroom for hrs on end. We have cut
out eating out pretty much and going to movies. We pick up a RedBox sometimes on the weekend (Here is a link for a Free RedBox rental every Monday, if you are also on a budget) and pop
a little corn. The exception
was that we got a sitter this weekend and Fred and I had an actual date. Sushi, movie, popcorn. Straight up $200 later we decided we would do In & Out Burger instead of Sushi next time, and maybe find a $1 movie theater. But it was nice to get out and
breathe a little.
Anyone other than Misha start a blog? If you do, let me know! And if you get the urge to Twitter, Ill be there waiting for you! Ill leave you with a photo of a crazy blimp we see all the time. Thats right, I live in a place where you can go for blimp rides. It seems to be following us...
