Apparently March Showers bring April flowers in Silicon Valley

We are really looking forward to our first visitors! We are counting the days and have lots of plans. My best friend, Archer's best friend so double the the fun.  We are going to San Fransisco, Monterey and Half Moon Bay, and anything else we can fit in!

It has been raining here nearly nonstop. It will rain for 5 days and then a few day break and start up again. It supposed to be clear this weekend, but we have no plans yet. I think it is effecting my psyche Last weekend we took the kids to Club Lego, which they LOVED and then Archer had a bowling bday party. So nice that he is making good friends here. We have at least one playdate each week, and he is fitting in really well. Homework is a big deal here, and takes up more time than before, but he is doing great and is happy.  Skyler has a little girl that follows him around his preschool, and I think that is so cute!

We took a day trip to Half Moon Bay and a Marine Refuge one the last nice day. We did tide pooling all day and saw lots of harbor seals. Those are the photos from the Week in Pictures below. We had dinner at a great place on the beach and you can see Fred in his cool bib!

I just found my best childhood friend, Staci, on Facebook and am very excited about that. I was getting kind of bored on FB and this makes me so glad I joined.

Im so UNIMPRESSED with Silicon Valleys high tech reputation. Could the library being any lower tech. The old Prattville library in a trailer was better than what they have here. You would think all these huge local tech companies would be giving to local schools, but they dont. Think of a tech company and they are likely headquartered here. I was expecting voice recognition at the In & Out Burger drive through, but no. Nothing fancy.

I hope you are enjoying the kids Mystery Kid Blog and sharing it with your kids. They have a few more movies they have made I just need the time to get them uploaded. They love the comments they have so far!

Lastly, the other morning I felt the bed shake and rumble a bit (insert all jokes here) and I just KNEW it was a little earthquake. Ive been through a good one in Tokyo yrs ago and will always remember that swaying. So today I did a little search and discovered that you can type in your city name and the word earthquake and it returns statistics for your city (if you have them) and heres what I got:

  1. Recent earthquakes near Los Altos, California

    Magnitude  Location  Time
2.6  San Francisco Bay area, California  20 minutes ago  Map
2.6  Northern California  16 hours ago  Map
2.5  Northern California  18 hours ago  Map
    earthquake.usgs.gov

A little further research shows that "Northern California" actually means Los Altos Hills! It has been the epicenter of 13 little quakes in a week. That sounds like Trouble, right here in Rivercity, that starts with T and ends with E and that spells Trouble! (As sung by Sam Harris circa 1976)
