We had friends from Denver in town this week, and it was SO good to see them and be with people you know. We stayed so busy, off to some locale everyday.
One night we got a sitter and headed to Sams Chowder House in Half Moon Bay for dinner. Of course, I took video from my new iPhone app. I was eating fried fish and was too embarrassed to show that! But it was a great dinner, so good Kim and Fred needed bibs.
We headed down South to Monterey and did the aquarium there. Kim and I stopped at the beach at Moss Landing with the older kids for beach time on the way there. The Volvo I was driving had a transmission light come on half way there, so the guys drove it back home and got a different car. Fred was all ready to here the Volvo was done for and was talking about a new car, but we put it in the shop and they said it was fine. So we shall see... I dont want a new car so I dont know what Id get. Plus, that doesnt really fit into my California Budget Deficit plan. Oh well.
That night Kim and I drove home through the Santa Cruz mountains in a huge rain storm with zero visabilty from all the fog. There were two major wrecks and it was a little scary, the worst conditions Ive ever driven in, even I25 in a snow storm didnt compare, and I had precious twin cargo.
We also did another afternoon in Half Moon Bay with the kids at the beach and tidal pools, but it was artic cold that day there. On the last day we headed up to San Francisco and saw some sights that way hadnt seen yet. I am pretty proud of myself since I drove around the streets of San Francisco myself. We had to take two cars because we had so many kids! There were some pretty steep streets and I had no idea where I was going half the time (thank goodness for my iPhone GPS street maps!) We were RIGHT at the bridge and I was afraid that I would miss my exit and end up driving across the Golden Gate Bridge by accident. But we survived. We did China Town and had Dim Sum and bought silly trinkets, got all day Cable Car passes and squeezed on them several times, dessert at Ghiradelli and met another friend from Denver for dinner at Fishermans Warf. San Francisco is a great city for kids!
The boys LOVED seeing their best friend and they played and laughed the entire time.
We took so many photos over the week that I made a Slide Show for them on a separate blog entry. If you are having trouble seeing the video or slide shows, it is probably your browser version. Try http://www.google.com/chrome I know it works! Also, if you go to http://qik.com/fredsa you can see all the videos I have taken, as I dont put them all on the blog.
